A photo estimate is a starting point for reflection. We encourage comparable check-ins and reading scores alongside the images, rather than treating one result as a verdict.

Saved journal photos stay on your device. AI features send the images or text you submit for the requested processing. Our Privacy Policy explains the details.

How the AI features work
Skinreo uses OpenAI to interpret photos and ingredient lists submitted for analysis. Skin check-ins estimate five aspects of visible appearance: blemishes, redness, visible dryness, texture and lines at rest. Higher dryness-appearance scores mean fewer visible dry-looking changes, not measured moisture.
Light, angle, makeup, expression, skin tone and camera processing can affect results. The scores are not clinically validated measurements or diagnoses, and Skinreo does not establish the cause of a change.

The checker uses the label you provide, your self-reported profile and available ingredient reference information. Our reference records include source labels such as CosIng and Cosmetic Ingredient Review; catalog lookups depend on available product data.
Coverage varies, product formulas change, and AI can make mistakes. We do not test the finished formula, certify safety, predict allergies or guarantee that a product will suit your skin.

Saved journal photos remain on the device where you save them. When you request a scan, the selected image is sent through Skinreo to OpenAI. Saved scores are stored in your account. Moving local photos between devices requires a separate export and import.
